Tonight we had a movie night to celebrate Brooke's b-day. We got a chance to break in the new deck and invite some friends over. It was a great night. We ate dinner and had lots of junk food. Then we watched: To Catch a Thief. The best part of the night was a surprise visit by Dad, Christian and Hunter. They came up for a boys weekend and decided to surprise Brooke.

Seaside Florida 4th of July

Here's a pic from our Florida trip. We had a wonderful time. The sand was like sugar and the water was emerald green. We rode cruisers everywhere. The fireworks on the beach were so fun. Good times.

Classic

This picture cracks me up. Do you remember those days when you had to give a talk in primary? I know this picture is going to be so retro one day. It sort of already looks that way with the old school building. Lucia's friends had to give a talk so she sat right up there with them. Lucia prays she will be the one called on every Sunday. So every time someone got up to give a prayer or talk she would get up...and then have to sit back down. Finally, they asked, "Lucia is there something you would like to say?" So she stands up there works the mic in her hand and proceeds to have her moment, complete with "..and Ashley loves me." So there is no lack of confidence in her. Needless to say, she loves church.

Lucia's B-day

Yesterday we had Lucia's 4 year birthday party. It was so fun to celebrate with her. Having a July birthday means a super hot party so we did the blow up castle/slip and slide. She had her best pals there and we had a chance to eat and laugh at the guys trying to make there way onto the slip and slide. Lucia is my little buddy and I love her. I wish her room was a big blow up castle because she would be in heaven. She still has so much energy. It's going to be fun to see what she decides to do with it. I love you Lucia Lou.

Sunday at Sundance

We spent the afternoon on Sunday at Sundance. That's where Rich and I had our wedding dinner 9 years ago. We just went up to Stein Ericksen for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. It was really good...... Being here really reminds me of the good decision I made. I love that guy.

Timp Cave Hike

I bought a pack and the girls and I are going to explore the Wasatch together. We did Bell Canyon on Saturday and Timp Cave today. Today's was little hard because it was longer and up hill the whole way. But we did it and it was so cool to see Lucia so excited on the way down because she knew she had made it. 2 hours up and 40 mins down. Maybe that's why she was stoked on the way down. We went to Barnes tonight and got a book about hiking with kids and a pocket wild flower guide. Today we saw the BeardTongue flower. So I asked Lucia later what flower we saw and she said "the lip one." Pretty good I thought. I love being out there with them. Poor little Stella must have expended a lot of energy from looking around because she passed out.

Shakin up Sunday

Sundays are the craziest day. They start out with me usually totally stressin to get to church. I think I've broken a record for getting "dressed up" and presentable in less than 5 mins. By the time I get done wrestling the girls into their dresses I've already broken a sweat. Then Sacrament meeting is like WWF. Anyway, when we get home I just love to chill, but then oddly enough it can get a little dull. Rich and I decided to cook some steaks and beans and called Luke and Marissa to join in. Then Dave dropped in, then Jenn and the kids and then it just kept growing from there. So it ended up being a great day. Andy brought her bike with the seat on the back and Rich kept taking Stella for rides. She got such a kick out of it. I'm thinking this is how it should be every Sunday.

Just chillin

Stella and Elliot were little jailbirds so Shannon and I could hang. The kids had fun swinging. Lately I love just hanging with friends in the font yard. So simple but so fun. But alas, it snowed again today. You've got to be kidding. There is all this construction going on in the house with windows and so we are freezing our ...off. But its fun to see things get done. Lucia took pictures of me. i like them because she catches me without me trying to hard.

Tee Ball

Lucia had her first T-ball game today. She looked so darling in her oversized t-shirt and baseball hat. They don't have practice at her age just games. Lucia was just placed in the out field and it was hilarious to watch her out there. She sort of looked around, yawned, started dancing. And then in the middle of a play comes running across the field to me all excited, "Mom, Mom I just saw a butterfly." She cracks me up. I guess that was the most exciting part of the game for her. She hit 3 balls and really picked it up. I love this new stage. My next thought is to put her in the sheep racing at the rodeo.

Sweet Spring Day

Today was 70 degrees what a miracle. We did Spring cleaning and painted the front of the house. Rich bought me flowers as a surprise. It was so fun to see the girls get into it. Lucia said, "Mom they are so wonderful." She is so funny. Sometimes she is so sassy and other times she seems so grown up. She was Cinderella today and so she help with all the house work. Good ole fairy tales come in handy here and there. Rich has rigged 3 swings in the front yard. It's a ploy to socialize. The winter was out of control and we need to see people a lot to store up for next winter. The worst is my pasty skin. Thank heavens for Jergens natural glow. I'll take orange and streaks, whatever I can get.
